A total of nine individuals have been arrested for engaging in open defecation in the Berger area of Lagos state. The states Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this in a post on X.com on Saturday and said they were arrested on Friday by Officials of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps. Nine individuals were arrested for open urination and defecation at Berger last night.he wrote Wahab had earlier disclosed that 17 individuals were arrested on Thursday night at Berger for open urination, defecation, and not using the pedestrian bridge. The state governments zero-tolerance stance on open defecation is part of its broader efforts to maintain a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment for residents.
